Entrance to a Hutong
Hutongs are the traditional living quarters of Beijingers and within the walls of each that remain there is a bustle of activity and life. Market stalls, shops, convenience stalls, restaurants and trades of various kinds. Take a good look because 2008 is reckoned to be the year when Hutongs finally become extinct, having been destroyed to make way for modern living.
