I have to tell you that Hannah and I were surprised when we saw this. We weren't expecting anything like this in China but just look how sparkling new and shiny everything is! This is made all the more remarkable when I tell you that, even though this mall is open for business (and you can see plenty of wannabe shoppers wandering around) there is a lot of construction work going on behind the scenes. To get in we had to navigate through a maze of scaffolding and chipboards, breathing in a pleasant combination of brick dust and sawdust. The workers are so dedicated to getting the job done in hte quickest possible time that they were trying to lay the carpet in a corridor that was still open to the public! I felt (almost) terrible as I blundered my way through the semi carpeted corridor, preventing these poor men from completing their task. Not that I was the only person doing this, you understand...
