Ayutthaya Ruins
These ruins are all that is left of the old city of Ayutthaya, one time capital of Thailand. Crumbling Wats can be seen in the distance and were pretty much the only structures left standing after the invasion of the Burmese in 1782. It was after this that Bangkok was made the capital of Thailand and has been ever since.

I always thinkg when I see buildings built of bricks like this...they'd have got it done a lot quicker if they made the bricks a bit taller - turned them the other way round, no?
Anyway, good to see you had fun in Thailand and good to have you back on here - my lunchtimes haven't been the same without you! Re: Re:Ayutthaya Ruins

I admire what you have done here. I like the part where you say you are doing this to give back but I would assume by all the comments that this is working for you as well.

There are no words at the sight of this place, it's carries so much historical and cultural significance that makes it very special. Thailand is a country worth seeing, I got it on my world itinerary list, I just have to get more familiar with Thailand hotel prices, my guess is they are pretty affordable...
